June 05, 2020 | Women's Golf

DENVER — University of Colorado junior Kelsey Webster finished the 26th CoBank Colorado Women's Open on Friday tied for 39th.  Webster's placing was the fifth-best by an amateur at the tournament; only six amateurs made the cut after two rounds as the top 55 advanced.

The Boulder, Colo. native carded a 5-over 221 during the three-day event at the 6,373-yard par 72 Green Valley Ranch Golf Club. She shot a 77 (5-over) in the first round, but came back on the second day to shoot an even 72. Her two-day scorecard of 149 tied her for 47th and qualified her for the final round where she again shot even. Over the course of the tournament, Webster recorded 11 birdies, including six in the second round, and made 30 pars.

Former CU Buff and current LPGA Tour pro Jenny Coleman placed fifth overall. She recorded a 10-under 206 after three consecutive rounds in the 60s (68-69-69). Two more former Buffs, Brittany Fan and Kristin Coleman, recorded top-30 performances. Fan tied for 15th with a 1-under 215 (69-73-73) and Kristin Coleman tied for 26th shooting a 3-over 219 (76-69-74).

Incoming freshman Hailey Schalk (Erie, Colo.) tied for 92nd with another former Buff, Erin Houtsma. Both shot an 11-over 155. Schalk recorded rounds of 76 and 79, while Houtsma shot the same in reverse order (79 and 76).

Jennifer Kupcho (Westminster, Colo.) won with a 16-under 200. The LPGA Tour pro recorded rounds of 67, 65 and 68.
