The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including Hue Jackson admitting he failed during his Cleveland tenure.

Former Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson has received a fair share of criticism after his firing, but not because of his 3-36-1 record n his two and a half seasons with the Browns.

Most of the criticism is for how Jackson would pass off blame for Cleveland’s losing ways. In many statements and appearances following his firing, Jackson would not take responsibility for the Browns losses.

But 10 months after the Cleveland Browns made the decision to fire Jackson, the 53-year-old coach admits his tenure in Cleveland was a failure.

‘I Failed Tremendously’: Hue Jackson on the Blues After the Browns – Greg Bishop, Sports Illustrated

"Jackson accepts that he could have built better relationships with his assistants, set a clearer tone. He knows in his heart that when a team loses 31 games in two years it does so together, that it’s never just one person at fault. But he also accepts that he was the face of those teams and that he has to live with it.“I failed tremendously,” he says. “Regardless of how you look at it.”"

Although the losses are never one person’s doing, Jackson’s inability to take blame for losses and passing it off to someone else rubbed many people the wrong way. Head coaches are meant to take responsibility in the public, but point out the issues behind closed doors. Jackson rarely did that. But so long after being fired, Jackson may have realized he needs to take responsibility at some point.

Cleveland Browns: What is the message with Austin Corbett not starting? — Terry Pluto, Cleveland.com

"For example, Dorsey traded veteran Carlos Hyde at mid-season because it was evident Chubb had emerged as the superior running back. The rookie from Georgia earned the position. And for Corbett, that’s what he needs to do."

After each passing day, the Browns decision to select Austin Corbett looks worse. Corbett had a prime opportunity to become a starter this season, but was unable to take the job. If he is unable to claim a job that was his to lose, there is a lot of work that needs to be done.
