Harvey Hanna & Associates, Inc. has launched the website, GMBoxwoodFacts.com.
The site aims to provide Wilmington-area residents and other interested parties with information regarding the redevelopment of the former General Motors plant in Wilmington, Del.into a thriving, state-of-the-art business, fulfillment and distribution campus.
The demolition that got under way in November 2018 is slated for completion in September. Groundbreaking for the construction of the new business and logistics campus will commence this fall. Updates will be posted to the new website.
The new website also will keep the community informed regarding concerns raised about asbestos removal and handling. The website will be updated on a routine basis with the results of daily air quality testing around the property’s fence line.

According to an economic study by Philadelphia-based EconSult Solutions, the campus will produce:
- More than $281 million in annual impact, largely through the creation of thousands of permanent jobs in logistics, distribution, engineering, transportation and an array of support industries and services
- Approximately 160 new jobs annually over the duration of the construction period.
- A total of $6.8 million in taxes for the state of Delaware.
- Upon completion of the campus, more than $7.6 million in annual revenue through personal and business taxes
- $2.4 million in new property taxes annually for the Red Clay School District and New Castle County.
The study also found, driving the median home price up roughly 14 percent from $215,000 to $245,000 or higher, exclusive of inflation.
