Retailer Lands’ End will open a store in the Christiana Fashion Center.

The online and brick and mortar retailer is looking for staff for the store in the popular life-style center near Christiana Mall.

Lands’ End got its start in Dodgeville, WI about 60 years ago and became a well-known catalog retailer that competed on some fronts  Maine-based L.L. Bean.

Lands’ End  was later sold to Sears, which spun off the company as its troubles intensified. Lands’ End departments in Sears stores never quite clicked at the struggling retailer which continues to close locations, including two stores in Delaware.

Lands’ End is now exiting Sears stores while adding free-standing locations.

The Fashion Center has attracted big box retailers like Best Buy and off-price fashion operations like Nordstrom Rack, along with an assortment of restaurants, the latest being The Turning Point breakfast and lunch spot.

Christiana Mall lost its Chico’s women’s store to the Fashion Center, but has picked up replacements that include outdoor clothing retailer The North Face.
