Denver Weather: T-Storm Chances Increase Over Father's Day Weekend

DENVER (CBS4) - Many in Colorado were treated to a beautiful "Broncos" sunrise Friday morning after Thursday night's passing of longtime team owner Pat Bowlen. Big thanks to Carol for sending us the following picture from Loveland.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are once again on tap across Colorado thanks to some low-level moisture and daytime heating. It's about a 20-30% chance that you could see one where you live.

There is potential to see a few strong to severe storms rumble on the eastern plains of Colorado, anywhere from near Interstate 25 to the Kansas state line. Large hail, damaging wind and isolated tornadoes will be possible.

Looking ahead to the Father's Day weekend it will feature a good chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms both days as a cold front sweeps into the state. We aren't anticipating an all-day washout on Saturday or Sunday but if you are making plans to be outside with dad make sure you have a backup plan if storms threaten your location.
