From the Joseph Berry Sub to the North End

Welcome to this week’s Curbed Comparisons, where we look at homes for sale in different neighborhoods around Detroit. Today, we’re looking at houses within $10,000 of our budget: $250,000.

First up is a one bedroom, one bath condo at the Park Shelton. It sits across from the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Detroit Historical Museum, and the Detroit Public Library. It’s close to Wayne State, TechTown, and the Fisher Building. It includes garage parking, and most utilities are covered in the $438 HOA fee. It’s listing for $249,000.

$250,000 can also get a new single-family house in the North End. Part of a larger development, these new homes can be customized for the buyer. The homes have two bedrooms and one-and-a-half baths, and they’re close to New Center, Woodward Avenue, and Boston-Edison.

New condos are also available at the Sherbrooke in Midtown. This one bedroom, one bath condo has hardwood floors, new appliances and finishes, and it includes a gated parking space. It’s very close to Wayne State and many shops and restaurants in Midtown. This one is listing for $242,208, with $250 per month in HOA fees.

This four bedroom house on Atkinson has a lot of older charm, plus some newer updates. The kitchen has been refinished, and the main bathroom has a glitzy new look. It’s located next to Boston-Edison, close to the Lodge and Henry Ford Hospital. It’s listing for $249,900.

The listing for this four bedroom home in the Joseph Berry Subdivision says the house is being offered for the first time. It could use some refreshing, and we can see the potential. It’s close to the waterfront, Belle Isle, and the Villages, and it’s listing for $254,900.
