UFC is back on PPV with UFC 250, and it marks the first PPV event at its Apex facility in Las Vegas since before the Covid-19 pandemic shut things down. UFC 250 is scheduled for June 6th, with the preliminary card starting just after 6 p.m. on ESPN. The main card will air on ESPN+ as a PPV.
The card’s main event will feature Amanda Nunes defending her featherweight championship against Felicia Spencer. Just before that, the main card features a bantamweight contenders bout between fifth ranked Raphael Assuncao and ninth ranked Cody Garbrandt.
Assuncao enters the fight 27-7, but coming off back-to-back losses, and is a slight underdog in this bout. He lost last August to Cory Sandhagen via unanimous decision at UFC 241, and the prior February to marlon Morales via first round guillotine choke submission at UFC Fight Night 144. He’s currently landing 3.34 significant strikes per minute and absorbing 2.24 per minute.
Garbrandt enters the fight with a record of 11-3 and coming off three straight stoppage losses. He lost via first round TKO to Pedro Munhoz at UFC 235, and lost back-to-back fights to T.J. Dillashaw via KO and TKO. He enters the fight landing and absorbing 3.53 significant strikes per minute.
