Update: Alex Caceres wins by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
UFC 250 is set to take place this Saturday at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN+. It is the first PPV at the organization’s Apex facility in Las Vegas since before the pandemic shut it down. The preliminary card gets started just after 6 p.m. on ESPN and the main card will air on ESPN+ as a PPV. The event is headlined by Amanda Nunes defending her featherweight championship against Felicia Spencer.
The top fight on the preliminary card features Alex Caceres facing Chase Hooper in a featherweight matchup. Caceres is 31 years old and 15-12 with one no contest on his record. He is coming off a unanimous decision win over Steven Peterson at UFC on ESPN 4 last July, but prior to that had lost four his prior six fights.
Hooper is a mere 20 years of age and already 9-0-1. He has won three straight fights all coming last year, and all coming via stoppage. In his UFC debut, he beat Daniel Teymur via TKO at UFC 245 in December. Prior to that he beat Luis Gomez via rear-naked choke submission at Titan FC 55 in June and Sky Moiseichik via TKO at Island Fights 54 for Square Ring Promotions.
Hooper is a slight favorite at -125, with Caceres installed at even money.
