Excitement over the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers meeting in a rare Interleague matchup is amplified by the three-game series at Dodger Stadium taking place during 2019 MLB Players Weekend.

On the one hand, it robs fans of an opportunity to watch the historic teams play one another while wearing their iconic uniforms. But by that same token, plenty of personalities will be on full display for the national audience.

Along with Players Weekend providing an opportunity swap out a last name for a nickname, custom-designed bats, cleats and other equipment will be the norm throughout the three games.

For Justin Turner, Kiké Hernandez, A.J. Pollock and others on the Dodgers roster who are signed to an endorsement deal with Adidas, their cleats were designed by teams in the Little League World Series.

Meanwhile, Kenley Jansen, a Jordan Brand athlete, will be outfitted with cleats that recognize his foundation and passion for the L.A. Lakers, which SportsNet LA reporter Alanna Rizzo shared on Twitter:

Unlike the past two years where they drew from a Little League design, Players Weekend in 2019 brought about uniforms that are in a monochromatic black and monochromatic white color scheme.
As the home team, the Dodgers had their choice of which to wear, and opted for white.

Both jerseys have the team name outlined in silver, though pitchers will be required to wear a black cap regardless of whether or not they are the home team. Furthermore, every batter will wear a blank matte black or matte helmet that does not feature a team logo.
