Troopers Investigating Shooting Incident – Dover

Dover, Delaware – The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred during the overnight hours.

The preliminary investigation has determined the incident occurred on Monday, December 23, 2019, at approximately 1:15 a.m., as troopers were dispatched to North Governors Boulevard, in Capital Park, Dover for a shooting. During the same time, a report was received of a subject with gunshot wounds had arrived at a local area hospital. It was learned this subject was confirmed as the victim, 24-year-old male of Dover, in the shooting in Capital Park.

The investigation revealed two male victims were in a parked vehicle on North Governors Boulevard when an unknown suspect walked by and started shooting at the vehicle. The victims were able to exit the vehicle to get away from the suspect. The shooting victim was then transported to the hospital for his injuries. The other male subject in the vehicle was not injured.

The suspect has not been identified at this time.
