    Triton to set up solar battery plant in Andhra Pradesh

    The company said the proposed solar batteries manufacturing project to come up in phases will produce batteries based on nano and lithium polymer technology.

    HYDERABAD: US-based Triton Solar Company has agreed to set up a solar batteries manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh under public-private-partnership (PPP) model and has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board. The plant will help for conversion of electrical vehicles and secure 200 Megawatt of solar power storage supply to meet the state solar energy needs.

    In a statement, the Andhra Pradesh government said the company's chairman Himansu Patel and managing partner Nand Sandilya have come forward to set up the solar battery manufacturing plant at a cost of Rs 727 crore after the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is currently on a US tour, held discussions with the company's top management onTuesday.
