BRAJ MAHOTSAV & DOLCHI HOLI

œ Holi long weekend is here and what better way to indulge in the traditional play of colours than heading to a destination that comes alive during this time around with fervour. Head to the Braj region of Bharatpur district. The famed Braj Mahotsav is celebrated over three days. It is dedicated to the childhood of Lord Krishna and also the eternal bond between Radha and Krishna. The locals celebrate Braj Mahotsav by wearing new vibrant clothes and invite others to sing and dance.

Dolchi Holi is celebrated in Bikaner by the Harsh and Vyas communities (only men) in Rajasthan. Interestingly, water is used instead of colours and thrown on others from small vessels made from camel skin, known as Dolchi. Photographers find this very delightful and unique.




MARINE CAMP AT LAKSHADWEEP - THINNAKARA ISLAND

œ Lakshadweep is a group of islands, 200.440 km off the southwest coast of India. These islands form the smallest union territory of the country. The Lakshadweep region has about 600 species of fish, 78 species of coral and over 100 species of other marine invertebrates. This is the perfect opportunity to explore the fascinating marine life underwater.

This year BNHS will be visiting the Thinnakara Island. The charming isolated Thinnakara Island is situated just opposite the Bangaram Island and shares the same lagoon (also a part of the Bangaram atoll). You need not worry if you do not know how to swim as you can still enjoy the deep blue sea and move among the amazing corals, fishes, shells, shrimps and crabs with expert guidance. INDIA GRAPE HARVEST, WINE FESTIVAL 2018
When: Ongoing since Feb 9 till March 11, 2018
Where: Nashik, Maharashtra



œ Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, (MTDC), in association with Nashik Valley Wine Cluster, had announced the commencement of the India Grape Harvest, Wine Festival from February 9 to March 11 2018 on every weekend at wineries, vineyards and Agro tourist destinations across Nashik Valley. The festival is part of MTDCfs endeavour to increase Wine and Agri Tourism in the city and simultaneously generate employment opportunities. The initiative is inspired by the grape harvest festival held in various countries like France, Italy, Spain and Napa Valley and aims to popularise Indian grapes, Raisins, Wine Agricultural and Industrial production in India in addition to boosting wine tourism. The 20 venues of this festival are set to attract a large number of visitors from various destinations.

EASTER FESTIVAL
