Bihar Exit Polls: Times Now predicts an overwhelming victory for BJP& JDU with 30 seats

Bihar saw a 7-phase voting for 40 Lok Sabha seats. Times Now predicts an overwhelming victory for BJP & JDU with 30 seats and 10 seats.

In 2014, the BJP-LJP-RLSP combine won 31 Lok Sabha seats out of 40, RJD-Congress-NCP won seven and NDA's erstwhile ally JDU managed to bag only two. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) won only four seats and the Congress two. The JD-U, which contested separately, won two seats.

The contest in Bihar is in contrast to the 2014 LS polls which saw Nitish as a vocal critic of Narendra Modi. Nitish made it clear that his political role was limited to being a chief minister.

This election will be his first electoral test as an NDA ally after deserting the Grand Alliance. Nitish’s decision to declare Bihar a dry state will also face its first electoral test this time.
