Lockdown, Day 74: An imminent explosion?

India's case count jumped by 9,800 cases - for the second day running - to reach 2,36,657. This makes India the sixth worst affected country, just surpassing Italy's numbers. The worst part, however, is that experts at the WHO fear that India could still have an explosion of cases, especially with the country reopening.
A weekend before the first phase of repealing the lockdown, the country's worst hit cities - Mumbai and Delhi - are facing a severe shortage of beds.

COUNT SO FAR:

• 1,330 new cases in Delhi take total to 26,334.
• 222 new cases in Rajasthan, total now 10,084.
• 210 new cases in Andhra Pradesh, total cases now 4,460.
• 173 new cases in Odisha, state total up to 2,781.
• 146 new cases in Bihar, total now 4,598.
• 81 new cases in Assam, state's count now 2,324.
• 48 new cases Tripura, total cases now 695.
• 16 new cases in Jharkhand, state tally now 938.
• 11 new cases in Manipur, tally rises to 143.
• Three new cases in Pondicherry, total now 107.
• Two new cases in Mizoram, state's total now 24.
• 2,561 Mumbai Police personnel have tested positive, so far.
