Goa has reopened for tourists. Here’s what you need to know before hitting the road

As you begin to lose count of the number of days you’ve spent in social isolation, here’s something to lighten up your spirit and lift your mood. The sunshine state is now accepting domestic travelers. No quarantine necessary!

Over 250 hotels in Goa have been granted permission to resume operations. However, before you begin to blast your WhatsApp squad group to plan a trip soon, here are all the measures you need to keep in mind.

If you’re heading to Goa, then make sure to carry certificates that declare that you have tested negative for Covid-19.

Another option is to get tested at the state border and stay in quarantine until your results come out. In case you test positive, then you will be either asked to go back to your respective state or stay in Goa for treatment.

All domestic tourists from across the country are now allowed to enter the state with valid coronavirus test-result certificates.

It will be mandatory for you to pre-book your stay a hotel that has been permitted by the Goa government to open and resume its operations.  You’ll also need to fill a self-declaration form, which will be provided to you by the hotel.

Restaurants in Goa are now open with all social distancing measures in place.

You can enter Goa by road (Dodamarg, Patradevi, Keri, Mollem, Pollem), air (Dabolim International Airport) and train (Madgaon, Thivim and Vasco da Gama).
