Kochi: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the Kochi Metro Police Station, the first such station in the state. The station is located near the CUSAT metro station in Kalamassery.
From now on, all the cases related to the Kochi metro will come under the new station. The station aims to solve cases swiftly and for the speedy redressal of complaints from passengers.
A total of 23 officers have been posted for duty in the station including a CI, Three SIs including a woman, Three ASIs and 16 policemen.
During his inaugural speech, the CM said that police had a big part in how the actions of the government was evaluated. The people are observing the police actions 24x7. So the force must perform its duty justly and strictly adhering to the law.
Kochi Metro Rail Limited MD APM Mohammed Hanish, DGP Lokanath Behera, IG Vijay Sakhare and MLAs V K Ebrahim Kunju and M Swaraj were present.
The CM also inaugurated several police stations and buildings in Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Kozhikode, Kollam and Kasaragod districts through video conferencing.
