Thiruvananthapuram: All arrangements to receive the people who are returning to the state capital on trains from Tuesday have been completed, informed district Collector K. Gopalakrishnan. He noted that special facilities have been arranged at Thampanoor railway station amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
A special medical team is deployed to strictly carry out health check-up of each passenger who reaches here. People with COVID-19 symptoms will be immediately shifted to the hospital. Each passenger must carry the e-travel pass, obtained by online application through the official website ‘COVID-19 Jagratha’. Those who arrive on trains will be placed under institutional quarantine. Other passengers must observe home quarantine, informed the district Collector.
"Passengers will be divided into groups as per their district and allowed to leave the railway station by maintaining social distance. KSRTC will operate bus services from the railway station to other districts,” he added.
People who book train tickets must apply for the travel pass to Kerala through the web portal COVID-19 Jagratha. The authorities have made all arrangements to immediately issue travel passes to all applicants. Those who have not applied for a travel pass yet will be able to apply now. Details of the passengers who are included in a single ticket should be recorded as a single group on the application for the e-travel pass. The railway stations of departure, arrival, train number and PNR number must be recorded in the application.
Vehicles with only the driver will be arranged to take the passengers from the railway station to their homes, informed the Collector.
