Portland metro Friday weather: Clear morning leads to a warmer day, high of 81

Mark Graves/Staff

This week’s mild high temperatures turn up just a notch or two Friday due to the lack of morning clouds. Some areas along the coast and through the lower Columbia River valley could see light cloud cover, but most of Portland will be treated to clear skies and some warming Friday with highs reaching 81 degrees.

A weak front with clouds will make its way into the coast by Saturday morning. This will cause some coastal locations, especially in southwest Washington and the Willapa Hills, to see rain Saturday. This front will also keep temperatures cool for Portland with a high in the mid-70s. No rain is expected Saturday in the valleys, but we’ll have partly cloudy skies through most of the day.

Sunday looks slightly sunnier with some clouds hanging around until high pressure begins to build back in later in the day. Sunday’s high will be near 74. This high pressure is expected to increase into the first part of next week when temperatures into the low 90s are possible.
