Everybody always seemed to have a hunch that Frank Lampard would make a decent manager some day.

There was something about the way he carried himself on and off the pitch that singled him out as destined for success from the touchlines.

But not many people would have expected him to have had as good of a season as he has experienced with Derby County, guiding the Rams to fourth in the Championship table with 22 matches played.

The attacking talents of Jack Marriott, Mason Mount and Harry Wilson, who Lampard signed in the summer, have joined forces with Tom Lawrence to create one of the divisions most deadly attacks.

With the January transfer window just around the corner, you can bet that the Rams will be keen to bring in enforcements to maintain their promotion push as well.

Just nine points separate first placed Leeds United from sixth-placed Middlesbrough and the winter window will be a chance for each side to steal a march on their opponents.

As far as Derby are concerned, one ideal January signing can be found in the league below.

Harry Wilson has probably been the Rams' stand out performer so far this campaign, scoring stunning goals as well being a crucial part of that Lampard attack.

But there is always a risk he will get injured or recalled by parent club Liverpool.

Portsmouth winger Jamal Lowe would prove to be a brilliant signing for Lampard's side and one that they should undoubtedly move for.

So far this season he has seven goals and four assists, becoming a crucial member of the side that currently tops the League One table. He has pace, intelligence and a consistent end product - much like Wilson.

It really is a no-brainer.
