OSHKOSH (WLUK) -- Former Kimberly quarterback Cody Staerkel and former Iola-Scandanavia running back Bryce Huettner will begin practice at UW-Oshkosh next month ahead of their freshman season with the Titans.

This week the two are practicing ahead of the WFCA All-Star game and have already built a bond before the college season begins.

"Cody and I are good buddies," said Huettner. "He's a really good guy, excellent athlete, tremendous person in general. I'm looking forward spending the next four years as his teammate. It's nice when you can be surrounded by great football players and also surrounded by great people."

"I met him at that camp that was two weeks ago," said Staerkel. "We are actually pretty close buddies now so it will be fun."

The Titans open up the season at home against Carthage College September 7th.
