Male critical after shooting outside Waffle House in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — UPDATE: Metro Police are seeking assistance identifying two men and a woman involved in an apparent drug-related robbery and shooting at a Waffle House on Wednesday.

The department released surveillance photos of the two men and woman involved in the robbery.

Both men were described as black males who appeared to be in their 30s and early 40s.

The driver was described as a white woman with shoulder-length blonde hair.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects or blue Volkswagen (with a temporary tag) from the attached surveillance photos is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.

Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.

UPDATE: A male has been transported to the hospital with serious injuries after a shooting outside a Waffle House.

It happened outside the restaurant at 707 Stewarts Ferry Pike, just a few miles away from the Nashville International Airport.

Police said a male was shot twice and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he is in critical condition.

The victim told police he knows the suspect, but is not cooperating with police. Police said the suspect and victim may have been together at a nearby hotel before something "went down" at Waffle House. The suspect, who is described as a black male, fled in a dark-colored Volkswagen. An active search for the suspect is underway.

Metro Police, Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Davidson County Sheriff's Office are responded to the scene.

The investigation is just beginning, and we await further information from the police. We believe there was one person injured in the shooting, and our thoughts are with him and his family.
