Just days after former Vice President Joe Biden announced Senator Harris as his running mate, Democratic Pennsylvania leaders are stepping up their fight to get him in the White House.

However, Republicans are confident Pennsylvania will remain a red state if President Trump continues what he is already doing.

Less than 24 hours after formally introducing Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate, Pennsylvania Democrats are calling on women to stand with former vice president Joe Biden this November.

"I know and have full faith that Kamala Harris will help deliver the commonwealth to everyone in November," said Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-6th District).

Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan participated in a Pennsylvania women for Biden roundtable this morning.

"Women are people and people make families, families make America and America has Democratic values that this is a Republic and a Democracy all at the same time," said Rep. Houlahan.

Congresswoman Houlahan said Senator Harris and former vice president Biden bring those values at full center.

"Pennsylvanians are looking for a ticket that will focus on issues, restored decency as the video said, kindness, humility and empathy to the White House," said Rep. Houlahan.

However, Pennsylvania President Trump Chairwoman Bernadette Comfort said otherwise.

“We’re seeing record numbers in terms of jobs created again and of the 1.8 million created in July, 1.1. million were women," said Comfort.

Comfort said they are seeing change in Lackawanna County, which is one of ten counties in the state to vote mostly Democrat in 2016.

"They’re doing a great job of registering more you know Republicans. You’re going to see both men and women come out for the President in the Northeast strong," said Comfort.

USA Today is reporting President Trump will be visiting the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area next Thursday.

"The Trump campaign, we have had an on the ground game for a long time and we’ve not stopped," said Comfort.

The Democratic National Convention is set to begin next Monday and run through next Thursday. Meanwhile, President Trump is expected to make a stop in Arizona early next week.

According to our news gathering partners at the Times Leader, the Secret Service will be in the area looking at potential locations for President Trump's visit from Scranton to Edwardsville.
