Ohio hunters in the south zone checked 2,965 wild turkeys on the first day of the spring wild turkey hunting season.
That’s according to the Department of Natural Resources.
Coshocton posted one of the highest totals on April 22 with 81 kills.
The northeast zone, consisting of Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, and Trumbull counties, hunting season opens April 29.
The southern zone is the remainder of the state.
