BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WBFF) -- Baltimore County Police say the suspect in the MTA bus barricade in Lutherville has now been charged.

Just before Friday afternoon, Baltimore County police said a person woke up on an MTA bus in Baltimore County threatening to shoot people.

Baltimore County police announced Saturday that the suspect, identified as Kevin Thompson Jr, 38, from the 100 block of Northwood Dr has been charged with firearm possession with a felony conviction, loaded handgun on person and several other weapons violations.

Thompson is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on a no bail status, according to police.

Officials say the bus driver called 911 and said the person had a weapon.

Police responded to the incident around 10:03 a.m., where there was heavy police activity in the area of W. Ridgely Road and Francke Avenue in the Lutherville-Timonium area, according to a tweet from Baltimore County Police.

Baltimore County officials confirm the suspect is the only person on board the bus.
