BALTIMORE (WBFF) -- It was an overall evening of peaceful protests honoring George Floyd and bringing awareness to the #BlackLivesMatter Movement in Baltimore.

Throughout the evening, peaceful demonstrations continued until about 10:30 p.m., when Baltimore City Police activated assistance from the Maryland State Police to moderate crowds in Downtown after fireworks broke out.

There was also a series of break-ins.

Just several blocks away, there were multiple reports of Metro PCS being broken into on Eutaw Street.

Mayor Jack Young has thanked Baltimore for the overall peaceful demonstration with his latest tweet sent at 2:00 a.m.:

At this time, Baltimore City Police remain in the area of City Hall, monitoring small groups of protesters, and they have indicated that they will make additional arrests for those refusing to go home.

At this time it is unknown whether or not protesters were linked to these crimes.

The series of burglaries are under investigation.
