FREDERICK, Md. (WJLA) - Authorities have released images of a suspect believed to be involved in the double shooting during a funeral Saturday at a Frederick church.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office said the man is being sought after two people were shot during an afternoon funeral at Jackson Chapel United Methodist Church in the 5600 block of Ballenger Creek Pike.

According to authorities, the shooting happened around 2:45 p.m. when they received calls reporting a shooting. Responding deputies learned of two victims transported to area hospitals and that the suspect had fled the scene prior to their arrival.

The extent of the injuries of the two victims – who were suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds – are unknown, but they are believed to be non-life threatening, authorities said.

The sheriff’s office does not believe the shooting was random. They believe it occurred because of an altercation between individuals at the service.

The funeral at the time of the shooting appeared to be for 24-year-old Trevor Frazier, one of two men fatally shot in a double shooting in Capitol Heights on April 7.

The sheriff’s office was assisted on scene by the Maryland State Police, Frederick Police Department and the Division of Fire & Rescue Services.
