CPF thrilled with success of Summer Block Party

Community enjoy fun-filled Primrose Sector One CPF Summer Block Party.

“We have a wonderful community to thank for coming out to support us.”

These were the words of Primrose Sector One CPF chairperson Bradley Adams following a successful Summer Block Party.

The event was held last Saturday, on the corner of Oak Avenue and Acacia Road, in Primrose, and saw community members, young and old, sharing a laugh as they enjoyed a number of different activities.

“The vintage car exhibition was definitely a hit with the crowd,” said Danica Adams, Primrose Sector One CPF community liaison officer.

“DJ Divan from DJM Entertainment did a great job providing music during the event.

“The martial arts performance by Master Lee’s Warriors of Faith Martial Arts Academy was a hit and the Zumba showcase had everybody wanting to join a class.

“And KelStar, our very own Afro-pop, house and R&B star from Marlands, had everyone on their feet with her awesome performance.

“Thank you to everyone who was involved in the event, for their dedication and willingness to assist, for sharing their resources and giving their time.”

The CPF thanked the event’s sponsors Auto Pursuit, Beetle Pirates (Jonathan Ward, Shannon Knox and Brandon Marks), Big E’s Pub, Clint’s Garden Services, Continental Deli, First Response Security (FRS), HISCO Steel, John Hoffe, Primrose Residents Against Crime (PRAC), Totus Tuus Independent School, Vdubtech (Pierre Eksteen), Waylin Cleaning Services and Concord Metals.

“Thank you to all the Primrose Sector One CPF committee members for all their hard work and to the Primrose Sector Two CPF and Primrose Sector Three CPF for their support,” said Danica.

“To all our vendors who supported the event, thank you, and to everyone who contributed towards our car boot sale, thank you.

“Finally to our volunteers, without whom we would never have been able to pull this off, thank you.”

Funds raised at the event will go towards the CPF and licence plate recognition (LPR) cameras.

“The CPF is there to serve the community and the aim of the Summer Block Party was to raise funds and help build relationships within the community,” said Bradley.

“It aimed to get people out of their homes and into the streets to take back their streets while creating an economic opportunity for the community.”
