NEW YORK—Columbia University and Columbia Athletics celebrated the commencement of its 266^th academic year on Wednesday morning with its first-ever virtual graduation ceremony. The historic ceremony was conducted virtually due to COVID-19 public constraints.
 
The Columbia Athletics Class of 2020 was comprised of 158 student-athletes who were responsible for delivering a total of three team national championships (2017 & 2018 Archery Compound Division, 2019 Fencing), three individual national titles (2019 fall ITA All-American Championships; Jackie Tang; 2019, Anne Cebula, women's fencing/epee; Sophia Strachan, 2019 Compound Collegiate Indoor National Champion) and 20 team Ivy League Championships. Additionally, the Class of 2020 features seven student-athletes who earned All-America honors, three athletes who earned First Team All-America honors, four student-athletes who claimed at least one individual Ivy League championship, one student-athlete who garnered an Ivy League Player of the Year award, 32 athletes who earned All-Ivy League honors at least one time in their career, and 16 were named to the Academic All-Ivy League Team.
 
"This group is truly remarkable with how they have represented Columbia in athletics, in the classroom, and in the community," Campbell Family Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Peter Pilling said. "On behalf of our coaches, administrators and support staff, congratulations to the Class of 2020!"
