NEWARK, N.J. -- Martin Krampelj had his second straight double-double, finishing with a career-high 25 points as well as a season-best 11 rebounds, but Seton Hall used a game-ending 11-2 run to post a 63-58 victory over Creighton on Saturday night in Newark.

Seton Hall improved to 14-9 on the season and into a tie for third in the BIG EAST with a 5-6 record, while Creighton lost a second straight nailbiter to drop to 13-11 and 4-7 in league action.

Seton Hall raced to a 14-5 lead in the first five minutes, scoring on six of 10 trips, as Sandro Mamukelashvili scored six and Quincy McKnight added four to spark the hosts. Creighton countered with a 10-0 run to take the lead. The burst started with a short jumper from Samson Froling, and Krampelj supplied the next six points courtesy of two dunks and two foul shots. CU went ahead 15-14 on a bucket from senior Connor Cashaw.

Seton Hall would again regain the lead before a 6-0 run capped by consecutive hoops by Christian Bishop gave the Jays a 29-28 advantage and prompt a Seton Hall timeout. The Pirates got a 3-ball from Jared Rhoden late in the half and owned a 31-29 lead heading into intermission. Krampelj led Creighton with 14 points, eight rebounds and three steals in the first half. CU shot just 28.6 percent in the opening half, its lowest of the season, but held Seton Hall to 34.4 percent marksmanship to only trail by two.

Seton Hall stretched the lead into double-digits (41-29) with a 10-0 run to open the second half as Creighton was off the mark on its first six shot attempts. CU answered with the next 10 points, getting five from Krampelj before Ty-Shon Alexander sank a three-ball in transition for his first points of the night and a Krampelj jumper from the foul line.

After Seton Hall went back up 46-41, Creighton punched back with another 10-0 run to take its largest lead of the evening to that point at 51-46 with 7:04 to go. The flurry featured treys by Alexander and Joseph, as well as two hoops by Bishop inside. The lead expanded to six on Alexander's third trey of the half, making it 54-48 with 4:35 remaining.

Seton Hall got the fans on the feet after back-to-back buckets by Myles Powell, but Krampelj quieted the crowd with a pair of free throws with 2:36 remaining. Seton Hall retook the lead with five straight free throws as McKnight made two before Powell sank all three on a shooting foul with 1:48 left.

Alexander was fouled on a drive with 1:31 to go and sank both as CU regained a 58-57 edge before Powell answered with a driving shot in traffic with 1:15 left to put SHU back up by one. After a Bluejay miss, Powell missed a three-pointer but Seton Hall got the offensive rebound and Powell was fouled with 10.7 left. The league's second-leading scorer sank both to give the Pirates a 61-58 lead.

CU's Davion Mintz would be fouled near midcourt with 7.8 left, but he missed the free throw and Powell was fouled with 6.2 left. He made both for the final margin.

In addition to 25 from Krampelj, Alexander had 11 points and seven rebounds and Bishop scored a season-best 10 points. Creighton shot 30.3 percent for the game and 8-of-28 from dowtnown. The Jays won the rebound battle, 47-43.

Seton Hall was led by 22 from Powell, including 13 after halftime. Mamukelashvili had six points and a team-best 10 rebounds. The Pirates shot 33.3 percent on the evening but made 16-of-20 foul shots.

Creighton will wrap up a three-game road trip on Wednesday with a 7:35 p.m. CST game at Xavier that will air on CBS Sports Network.

NOTES: Creighton's six steals in the first half were its second-most of the season before the break, one shy of the seven swipes it had vs. Green Bay on Dec. 14 ... Martin Krampelj has now scored 10 or more points in 13 of the last 14 games ... Martin Krampelj's eight rebounds were the most in the first half by any Bluejay this season, and his three three-pointers were a career-high ... Ty-Shon Alexander has made a 3-pointer in 27 straight games, tied with Kyle Korver for the third-longest streak in Creighton history ...
