Women's soccer hosts Houston on Senior Night

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Kicking off its final home weekend of the regular season, No. 11/10 Memphis women's soccer will host Houston on Thursday evening at Park Avenue Campus. The Senior Night kick is set for 7 p.m.

Five Things To Know About Memphis 
- The Tigers will honor four seniors before Thursday night's kickoff. Rachel Ashworth Shepard, Serena Dolan, Amanda Lammey and Stasia Mallin are part of a senior class that has helped Memphis to a 55-16-5 record in the last four seasons.
- In their last time out, Memphis battled ECU to a 1-1 draw on Oct. 13. Despite falling behind in the 68th minute, Claire Abrey registered her fourth goal of the season to help the Tigers secure an additional point in the league standings.
- Checking in at No. 11 in this week's United Soccer Coaches poll and No. 10 in the TopDrawerSoccer poll, Memphis has now been ranked for 13 consecutive weeks. Overall, the Tigers are 40-8-2 all-time as a ranked team.
- Memphis ranks among the national leaders in several statistical categories. Offensively, Memphis is sixth in scoring offense (2.73 goals per game), eighth in total goals (41) and sixth in shots on goals per game (9.00). Defensively, the Tigers are fourth in goals-against average (0.328) and fourth in shutout percentage (0.733).
- Memphis and Houston will meet for the 23rd time in program histories on Thursday with Memphis leading the series by a 14-7-1 mark. The Tigers have won the previous seven meetings, including a 4-0 shutout against the Cougars in last season's matchup in Houston.

A Look at Houston
After a 0-4 start to conference play, Houston posted wins against ECU and Cincinnati last weekend to improve to 2-4. The Cougars turned in a pair of shutout wins against the Pirates and Bearcats, which led to senior keeper Samantha Cude claiming the AAC's Goalkeeper of the Week honor.
 
Offensively, Desiree Bowen leads the team with three goals, while 11 other Cougars have tallied at least one score this season. Bowen and Jazmin Grant are the Cougars' assist leaders with three apiece. In net, Cude has logged 1,091 minutes with 39 saves.
