Madhya Pradesh Lockdown ePass: Over 47 lakh people apply for e-passes on mapit.gov.in

MAP IT Covid-19 Pass: With the aim to help people who are stranded in different parts of the state, the Madhya Pradesh government has launched an online portal dedicated for issuing e-passes and registering migrant residents. According to latest available data on the portal, out of over 47 lakh application for e-passes, more than 15 lakh have been approved and about 23 lakh have been rejected due to various reasons.

In a fresh guideline issued last week, the state government made it easy for people to apply and get e-passes for reasons others than the death, marriage and medical emergency. Under the new arrangement, people who are stranded in hotspot cities like Bhopal, Indore and Ujjain can also apply for e-passes and return to their native places.

Earlier, the government had made no arrangements to bring back those stuck in hotspot cities of other states. But now citizens can apply for the e-pass at MAP-IT portal (mapit.gov.in/covid-19/) of the state government. The passes, to bring back those stranded in other states, will be issued only for once and will be valid for only once.

In the previous order, e-passes for going to Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal, Dhar, Khandwa and Khargone were issued only on medical emergency, death and marriage. Now, the collectors of these cities can give permission to people to leave the district for other reasons too.

The returning citizens will undergo medical test and will remain home quarantined if not suspected. The suspects of COVID-19 will be institute quarantined.

How to apply for e-pass in Madhya Pradesh on MAP IT portal?

To apply for the e-pass you need to log on www.mapit.gov.in/covid-19. See the home page of the portal, you can easily find the link of “Apply online” for Epass MP. As you click on the link you will be redirected to a new page. Enter the mobile number and select the district from the drop-down list. After entering both the details enter the security code and press the “Submit” tab.

You will receive an OTP on the number you have entered check the number. Fill the details accordingly and carefully. Upload the required documents to their place. Give all details the press the submit button. After successful registration, you will receive a confirmation message on the portal.
