Update: Kansas woman dies after motorcycle crash into building

Editor's note the story has been corrected to indicate the accident did not happen during a chase by law enforcement as the KHP originally reported.

ATCHISON COUNTY —One person died just after 10:30 p.m. Thursday in Atchison County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported 2019 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Celia M. Fodor, 26, Atchison, was southbound on U.S. 59 Highway at Henry Street in Atchison.

The motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed, crossed the center line, left the roadway,  continued through a yard and went airborne through a window of an abandoned building at 1600 U.S.59 Highway.

The driver was ejected from the motorcycle and struck the same building.   Fodor was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to  Becker-Dyer Funeral Home. She was wearing a helmet, according to the KHP.
