A 24-year-old Helena man is accused of beating a man so badly that he was unable to recall parts of the assault.
Dana Adrian Fox is charged with felony counts of assault with a weapon and aggravated assault and a misdemeanor count of tampering with or destroying a communication device.
On Dec. 11, an officer responded to a call about an altercation and found the victim of the assault severely beaten and in a "diminished state of consciousness," according to court documents. The victim was unable to remember parts of the assault but appeared to have been attacked with a baseball bat. A bloody bat was found a short distance away.
The victim also described being choked by Fox and trying to call law enforcement. Fox allegedly took the victim's phone away to stop him calling for help. He was arrested and taken into custody at the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center.
