For any Helena or East Helena residents considering a run for city office, now is the time to register.Â
April 18 marked the beginning of the 2019 municipal government filing period, when residents hoping to run for elected positions can file paperwork showing their intent to run. The last day to file for the primary is June 17, two months after the opening date.
The positions held by Helena city commissioners Ed Noonan and Kali Wicks are both up for election this year. Recent city judge appointee Anne Peterson's seat will also be up for grabs this cycle, along with 28 positions on Helena's Neighborhood Council.
East Helena will be electing two commission members this year.Â
