When he steps down Friday, Helena Human Resources Director James Fehr will be the city's fourth department head to resign so far this year.
Fehr plans to take over as head of human resources for the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services.Â
"I love the city and the people I worked with," Fehr said.
"They were professional and hardworking and dedicated to the citizens of Helena," he added.
Ciarra Krantz will take over as the interim director of human resources for the city, effective Monday, June 24.Â
The city is currently recruiting for Fehr's replacement.
Troy McGee retired at the end of March after more than four decades with the Helena Police Department and nearly 23 as chief.Â
