Smoke from a controlled burn on Mount Helena will be visible throughout the day Tuesday and possibly Wednesday.
The city of Helena is burning piles of slash that resulted from thinning operations on the northeast face of the mountain, Assistant Fire Chief Mike Chambers said.
“It’s a controlled burn, and everything is good,” he said.
