The Bruin Wrestling Club won the medium team championship at the Mining City Middle School tournament this past weekend, withing a field of 340 middle school wrestlers.
Individual champions were: Mid-62 Trenton Nelson, Mid-107 Cole Graham, Mid-196 Talon Marsh. Finishing Second: Mid-72 Cashton Spolar, Mid-89 Cash Corbally, Mid-152 Dylan Graham.
Additional place winners were: Mid-104 Dylan Mikesell (fourth), Mid-116 Ian Mehrens (fourth), Mid-127 John Armstrong (fourth), Mid-220 Jackson Anderson (fifth), Mid-84 Ben Werner (sixth), Mid-84 Tarik Repnak (sixth).
The club also had a strong showing at the Cyclops tournament. Individual Champions: Cadet 126 and 132 Carson DesRosier, Cadet 160 Tristyn Gilliam, Junior 170 Chaz Bushnell.

Great Divide Ski Team
posts strong results
Male members of the Great Divide Ski Team, led by medal winning performances from Witt Williams and McCoy Gebhardt, posted strong results from the last Northern Division Slalom qualifier competitions.
The races were held on the Sunrise Bowl Slalom hill at Snow Bowl ski area outside of Missoula. The men skied well with challenging snow surfaces and a steep race venue.
Competitors included all the top U16-U21 divisional athletes and members of the Rocky Mountain College ski team. This event was the final seasonal qualifier selecting athletes from throughout the Northern Division for divisional teams competing in post season championship competitions.

Helena Christian girls
lose first tourney game
The Helena Christian girls basketball team lost the first game of the Montana Athletics Association state tournament on Thursday 51-23. The Rams struggled shooting at 18 percent from the field.
They were led in scoring by Caitlyn Walth with seven points and JaeLynne Harlan had five. The Rams were led in rebounding by Faith Harlan with 10, Juliet Jungers and Dianna Walth added 8 each.
The Rams are back in action at 1 p.m. Friday in the consolation bracket against the loser of the Stillwater Christian and Billings Christian game.
Helena Christian boys
fall to Gallatin Valley
The Helena Christian boys basketball team lost to Gallatin Valley 79-34 on Thursday night. Seth Kerttula led the Rams with 13 points, while Andrew Lancette added seven and Colby Austin had six.
Kerttula also had seven rebounds and three assists. Daniel Gillihan added six rebounds. The 35 turnovers and a lack of rebounding hurt the Rams.
