‘Black Widow’ Set Photos Offer First Look At Scarlett Johansson’s New Costume

Avengers Endgame Scarlett Johansson Black Widow Marvel Studios D23 Disney Taskmaster

New set photos from Black Widow reveal a new costume for Scarlett Johansson in the upcoming standalone Marvel film.

Thanks to the latest batch of set photos that made the rounds on Twitter earlier today, fans have finally been given a glimpse at Scarlett Johansson in new costume for Black Widow. The superspy’s new look has a grey and black color scheme, while looking tactical enough for Natasha Romanoff to take on the villainous Taskmaster. She’s noticeably not wearing her iconic all-black costume, mainly because Black Widow takes place after Captain America: Civil War — where she and the rest of Team Cap had to operate outside the law by the end of the film.

In the new set photos shared on Twitter, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow is among what looks like the wreckage of a plane crash. Could this be one of the big set pieces of the film? With Taskmaster’s military expertise and mercenary contacts, it would be quite easy for a villain like him to cause such destruction. In one photo, Scarlett Johansson is laying down next to another character, but it’s not clear who. It’s not impossible that it’s Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, the second Black Widow in the comics.

With D23 underway, it’s not impossible that Disney and Marvel may drop the first trailer for Black Widow very soon. What do you want to see from Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff in Black Widow? Let us know in the comments.

Full plot details on Black Widow are currently under wraps, though it has been revealed that the film is set after the events of Captain America: Civil War and will see Scarlett Johansson’s Nathasha Romanoff take on the villainous Taskmaster. The film will also mark the Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of Yelena Belova, the second modern-era character to use the Black Widow title in the comics.

Directed by Cate Shortland from a script written by Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson, Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson, David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O-T Fagbenle, and Rachel Weisz. Production is currently underway.

Black Widow will be released in theaters on May 1, 2020. Stay tuned for the latest news on the Scarlett Johansson movie!
