Expanding the duo’s past collaborative efforts to an entire runway presentation, London-based designer Feng Chen Wang introduced her expansive Spring/Summer 2020 Converse collaboration during Shanghai Fashion Week. A wide array of looks showcased disparate garments in a slew of colors, drawing inspiration from both Converse’s sportswear heritage and Wang’s Chinese heritage.

Traditional bamboo hats inspired the headwear seen throughout the collection, with organic plant dyes informing the bold splashes of color that afflict various layering pieces. Elsewhere, Wang toys with menswear staples by lengthening trench coats and cropping anoraks, remixing trucker jackets and track pants with mismatched panels.

Cargo pockets and zip-off legs lend a utilitarian feel to color-blocked jackets and trousers, while classic shirts, wide pleated shorts and denim jeans are elevated by layered detailing — certain garments double up on waistbands or hemlines while some shirts sport delicate crochet detailing. Throughout, bold Converse branding reinforces the range’s collaborative origin, along with comparatively conventional One-Star sneakers.

Expect the collaborative goods to hit select stockists in China and Korea on November 15.

Elsewhere, AMBUSH’s collaborative Converse is set to hit stores this week.
