Bhubaneswar: Tightening the noose around the necks of the illegal drug traders in the Twin City, the Excise Department sleuths arrested at least two persons and seized brown sugar weighing around 70 gram from their possession after conducting a raid in Kolathia and Baramunda areas here today.
The held accused duo has been identified as Tukuna Das of Gurujang and Prakash Pradhan.
As per the report, a joint team of Bhubaneswar Excise Unit and Cuttack Flying Squad comprising of Sarat Chandra Bhanja, DP Dash, Hrudaya Samanta, Hitanshu Malik conducted the raid after getting a tip-off on the presence of the peddlers in the city this morning.
During the raid the officials also seized a Suzuki Gixer bearing Registration Number OD 02-AH- 4588 and an auto rickshaw bearing Registration Number OD 02-R-1896 from the spot.
The held peddlers will be forwarded to court today.
