Youth held over involvement in illegal arms trade in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Unearthing an illegal firearm racket in the poll bound capital city, the Commissionerate Police arrested at least seven persons after conducting a raid in Dhauli area last night.

The held prime accused has been identified as Chinmaya Nanda Badajena.

A per the report, Dhauli Police got a tip off on Badajena and his associates, who were possessing illegal arms and was about to deliver a consignment late in the night. Later, a raid was conducted at the hideout of the accused by the Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch.

Currently, Dhauli Police is interrogating Badajena to extract more information on the firearm trade.

As many as 14 cases are pending against the held criminal, who allegedly enjoys backing of a particular political party, says reports.
