Gujjar Bakerwal Student Conference on Monday staged a protest to press for the demand of a PG Hostel to be set up in Kashmir.

The protesting students assembled here in Press Enclave Srinagar said that Jammu Kashmir Government had promised to set up two PG Hostels in the state, one in Jammu and another in Kashmir.

The protesters said that the governor had allotted 2 hostels in Jammu and Srinagar each, in 2012, among which the Srinagar’s hostel is still under construction. “Currently we are staying in rented accommodation and can’t afford to pay a huge rent every month,” said of the protesting student.

The students were from different colleges of Srinagar including Amar Singh college, Bemina college and SP college.
