Hailstorm followed by heavy rain lashed the various parts of Srinagar district on Monday afternoon; however, there was no immediate report of any damage from the district.

Around 4: 30 today, hailstorm followed by fast rains was witnessed in the summer capital, Srinagar. The same situation was also witnessed in district Baramulla’s Pattan area. as the Srinagar was witnessing rains, various areas in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district and its adjoining places witnessed strong winds. The strong winds created panic among the residents; however, no damage was reported from these areas as well.

Meanwhile, a Met spokesperson informed that isolated light rain and thundershowers would occur during the next 36 hours in Kashmir valley. However, he said the weather will turn dry from June 20, 2019, onwards.
