Coronavirus claims life of 36-year-old, Oregon death toll at 157

Three new people have died from coronavirus in Oregon, raising the statewide death toll to 157, as of Tuesday morning.

One of the reported deaths was a 36-year-old woman in Multnomah County. She tested positive on May 31 and died the same day at a hospital. She had underlying medical conditions.

The two other deaths were a 66-year-old woman and an 88-year-old woman who both also had underlying health conditions.

The Oregon Health Authority also announced 33 new cases, both presumptive and confirmed. This brings total coronavirus cases in Oregon since the pandemic first began to 4,335.

The newly reported cases are in the following counties:

  • Benton (1)
  • Hood River (4)
  • Lincoln (2)
  • Linn (1)
  • Marion (8)
  • Multnomah (10)
  • Umatilla (1)
  • Wasco (2)
  • Washington (4)

Since the pandemic began, nearly 130,000 people have tested negative for the virus.
