Oregon sees 267 new cases of coronavirus, state total reaches 20K

Oregon Health Officials reported 267 new and presumptive cases of coronavirus, bringing the state total to 20,225 since the pandemic began.

Officials also reported one new coronavirus-related death, bringing the state death toll to 339.

The new cases reported Thursday are in the following counties:

Oregon’s 339th COVID-19 death is an 83-year-old man in Umatilla County who tested positive on July 16 and died on August 1. He had underlying conditions.

On Wednesday, the Oregon Health Authority released a report that found 69 active outbreaks at workplaces across the state, including three news ones at a Walmart in Umatilla County, the OR1 Construction site in Multnomah County, and Lamb Weston facilities in Boardman, Oregon.

Oregon OSHA says it has issued at least 14 citations to local businesses who aren't following state coronavirus restrictions.

The citations came with fines-- from $100 to $14,000.
