An Arkansas family is pleading to the public for help in the death of their loved one.

Juliana Falcon is the daughter of Diana Alamilla. Falcon said her mom was a fun-loving person and she doesn’t know why anyone would want to harm her.

Last month, many Arkansans celebrated Independence Day. Falcon said that holiday was the last day she heard her mother's voice in a voicemail. In the 30 second voicemail, Falcon said her mother expressed how she loved her, said Happy Fourth of July and to make a pop-up visit to her home soon.

Falcon said she tried to call her back but her mother did not pick up. She also said the last communication she had with her mother was on Facebook messenger, she said it must've been days before she died.

“Honestly I cry every night because I wish I could’ve been there to save her, and it bothers me that no one was there to save her,” Falcon said.

Hot Springs police said around 11:30 p.m. on July 12, they went to Alamilla’s home for a wellness check and found the 50-year-old woman dead. Authorities said a few days later the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory ruled her death to be a homicide.

Falcon said, according to her mother’s death certificate, the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest.

The police department said as of July, there have been seven homicides in the city. Five of which officers have made arrests.

Falcon said she was hoping one of her mother’s neighbors would have seen who killed her from the sound of that gun, but said no one has come forward.

“That it could've been them or it could've been their mother, or their daughter, or their family member and no one's standing up to say something,” Falcon said.

Falcon said her mother leaves behind a father, five siblings, three children, and six grandchildren.

KATV did speak with Alamilla’s neighbors and they said they did not hear the gunshot.
