Authorities are investigating after a woman said a man she has known since high school assaulted her and demanded she give him her bank account information.

Police say the incident occurred at a home located in the 1400 block of Madison Street around 12 p.m. on Tuesday.

The victim told officers the suspect, whom she knows as a 32-year-old of College Station, used physical force to try and make her give him her bank account information. When she tried to leave, he pulled her back inside and began beating her again.

The victim says she agreed to going to the bank with him so he would stop hitting her.

Shortly after arriving at the bank, a teller pulled the victim aside, causing the suspect to flee on foot.

The victim says she and the suspect have never had a romantic relationship.

The suspect was not listed on the Pulaski County jail roster as of 3 p.m. Wednesday.
