SALEM, Ore. – A Salem restaurant is holding an auction Saturday to raise money in memory of Karissa and Billy Fretwell, according to the Statesman Journal.
Police believe the mother and her 3-year-old son were murdered by Billy’s biological father.
Now, their community is working to help ease the financial stress on their family.
The auction will take place at 2 p.m. at Shooter’s Café and Saloon. Proceeds will go toward funeral and burial costs, as well as a scholarship for a student aspiring to be an English teacher, which was Karissa Fretwell’s dream.
Any extra money raised that is beyond the need of the Fretwells’ family will be donated to the Oregon Coalition of Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse.
