Smith Leaves For Cottage Grove

The Siuslaw Vikings will be in the hunt for a new girls basketball coach.  Chad Smith, who had resigned as Viking head football coach also headed up the girls basketball program.  He will be heading to Cottage Grove to be their new head football coach.

Ems Break Losing Streak

The Salem Kaiser Volcanoes did their best to put a scare in the Eugene Emeralds last night at Volcano Stadium.  The Ems took 4 innings to get rolling but built a solid 5 nothing lead going into the bottom of the 7th when the Volcanoes began to battle back.  The Volcanoes answered with 2 in the 7th and one in the 8th.  in the bottom of the 9th the Volcanoes started to rally and sent one run across the plate against Ems Reliever Riley McCauley, but McCauley shut down the attack earning the save.  The win snaps a three game losing streak.  The Ems and Volcanoes battle again this evening in Kaiser at 6:35.

Ducks to Play Battle for Atlantis

The Oregon Ducks basketball has announced that they will be participating in the Battle for Atlantis in the Caribbean on November 27th.  They will take on Seton Hall in the opener and could face Gonzaga in the Second Round if either both teams win, or both lose.
