Eight most underrated Kansas City Chiefs heading into 2020 season
These eight Kansas City Chiefs aren’t getting their due diligence heading into the 2020 season.
The Kansas City Chiefs are stacked all around and that helped them win Super Bowl LIV earlier this year. Who is being overlooked as we approach the 2020 regular season though?
Let’s take a look at the most underrated Chiefs currently on the roster.
Most Underrated Kansas City Chiefs – Number 8: Tanoh Kpassagnon
One of the best success stories last season was that of former 2017 second round pick Tanoh Kpassagnon, who prior to the 2019 season, was on his way to busts-ville.
Kpassagnon hadn’t done much in his first two seasons with the Chiefs, but year three was a big one for him, as he totaled 29 tackles (six for loss) and four sacks. He also appeared in all 16 regular season games and started eight of them.
Despite Kpassagnon’s improvement, he’s not getting much buzz heading into his fourth year in the league and Chiefs fans should be taking notice of the former Villanova product. This is a contract year for Kpassagnon and he’ll definitely be out to prove that his 2019 performance wasn’t a fluke.
Don’t count out Tanoh Kpassagnon to have one heck of a year for the defending Super Bowl champions.
Most Underrated Kansas City Chiefs – Number 7: Byron Pringle
It was a bummer when Kansas State product Byron Pringle was injured and couldn’t take part in the 2018 season because Chiefs fans had been hyping him up that entire preseason.
In 2019, however, Pringle was finally able to take the field with the team who signed him as an undrafted free agent the year prior and showed off what he could do.
While Pringle’s final stats weren’t eye popping, his game against the Colts (six catches for 103 yards and a touchdown) as well as his clutch catch against the Lions in the final minutes showed he could be a huge piece in this offense.
Pringle fizzled down the stretch and didn’t do much else throughout the 2019 season, but he’ll enter the 2020 season as the WR5 and he’ll definitely get his fair share of targets from Patrick Mahomes.
